The Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grants are to be awarded on a competitive basis to support planning, infrastructure, behavioral, and operations initiatives to prevent death and serious injury on roads and streets involving all roadway users, including pedestrians; bicyclists; public transportation, personal conveyance, and micromobility users; motorists; and commercial vehicle operators.
Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 Notice of Funding Opportunity:
The U.S. Department of Transportation published a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for $1.26 billion in grant funding through the Safe Streets 4 All discretionary grant program on February 21, 2024.

Eligible Projects

Action Plans – a holistic, well-defined strategy to prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries in a locality, Tribe, or region.

Implementation – projects and strategies identified in an Action Plan that address roadway safety problems.

NOTE – applicants must have an existing Action Plan (or have an existing plan that is substantially similar and meets the eligibility criteria of an Action Plan) to apply for implementation grants.
